Job summary

Grand Street Settlement in New York, NY is seeking a Custodian (Full-time) at the Delancey Family & Childcare Center to maintain a clean, safe, and compliant environment for children and staff.

Under supervision of the Center Director, you will perform daily cleaning, disinfect surfaces, manage waste, assist with minor repairs, and support DOH regulations while working a Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of relevant janitorial experience preferred.
• Ability to follow schedules and maintain inventories.

Responsibilities

• Daily cleaning and sanitization of classrooms, restrooms, and common areas.
• Disinfect surfaces and toys; use cleaning equipment as directed.
• Waste, recycling, and floor care including stripping/waxing as needed.
• Report maintenance issues to Center Director; assist with minor repairs.
• Maintain infection control logs and safety documentation.
