Job summary

Sullivan University seeks a part-time Custodian to maintain cleanliness and assist with events across campus facilities. Responsibilities include cleaning, set-up and break down for events, and moving furniture as needed.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, at least two years of related experience, and the ability to work evenings and weekends. Excellent customer service and safety awareness are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• At least two years of related custodial experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to communicate via radio for instructions.
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and efficiently.
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routes to collect and dispose of trash.
• Assist with set up and break down of campus events.
• Move and transport furniture and items for events.
• Coordinate and schedule vacuuming of offices, hallways, and rooms.
• Maintain cleanliness of floors, including mopping.
• Assist with custodial special projects.
• Wipe walls and whiteboards.
• Clean bathrooms throughout the day.
• Follow safety instructions regarding chemicals.
• Support custodial duties at other Sullivan University System locations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

We are currently looking for a part-time Custodian. The Custodian is responsible for ensuring work is completed where assigned by all custodians in a timely fashion, as well as completing different jobs as assigned by the manager to include set ups for events, maintaining the floors of all buildings as required and the coordination of different projects relating to floors, restrooms, furniture, etc.

Hours for the position are Monday-Friday 1 pm-5 pm

Responsibilities Of The Position Include

• Conducts routes throughout the building offices to collect and dispose of trash.
• Aids with the set up and break down of all campus events (Main Campus, Library, Bakery, COP/Nolan).

Requirements

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years related experience.
• An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Must be able to communicate via radio for instructions.
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and efficiently while meeting required deadlines.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate cleaning and set-up for special events.
• Knowledge of applicable OSHA standards.
• Knowledge of applicable safety practices and procedures.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
