• Empty waste and recycling containers and dispose of materials properly.
• Clean windows, doors, furniture, fixtures, and frequently touched surfaces.
• Restock restroom and custodial supplies and notify the supervisor when additional supplies are needed.
• Operate and maintain custodial equipment, including vacuums, floor scrubbers, and buffers.
• Follow instructions for the safe use, storage, and handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Identify and promptly report safety hazards, maintenance needs, equipment problems, and building damage.
• Assist with minor maintenance tasks within the scope of training and assigned responsibilities.
• Set up and move furniture, equipment, and supplies for school activities and events.
• Assist with building security by securing assigned doors and windows and reporting concerns.
• Respond promptly to spills and other cleaning needs.
• Assist with exterior cleanup, entrances, walkways, and seasonal tasks as assigned.
• Maintain respectful, professional relationships with students, staff, and visitors.
• Attend required training and perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

The position requires prolonged standing and walking; frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling; and lifting or moving supplies, furniture, and equipment. Work may involve exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, bodily fluids, varying temperatures, and outdoor conditions. Required protective equipment must be used, and essential duties may be performed with reasonable accommodation.

Employment Requirement

Employment is contingent upon successful completion and clearance of the district’s required background check.
