Job description

Saint Vincent College is seeking applications for a Custodian position within the Facilities Maintenance Office. This part-time role involves custodial and maintenance duties, including dusting, mopping, floor finishing and buffing, carpet cleaning, and reporting repairs. The position requires the ability to work with diverse departments and external vendors.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• No experience required; custodial background preferred

Essential Duties

• Use of custodial supplies and cleaning equipment, including moving furniture
• Perform cleaning routines to meet standards of cleanliness
• Wash, wax, dust, vacuum, and polish floors and furniture; clean lavatories and manage trash and recycling
• Shovel snow, sweep, and maintain outside premises
• Clean surfaces including glass, walls, ceilings, and light fixtures, including working at heights
• Secure buildings and doors
• Follow chemical safety protocols
• Replace light bulbs, report repairs
• Move furniture for events and classes
• Learn custodial tools and perform routine maintenance
• Create supply lists for assigned areas
• Provide coverage in different areas as needed
• Follow instructions carefully and exercise care with cleaning materials
• Work effectively with others
• Work from ladders to change bulbs, clean windows, dust
• Lift, pull, push objects up to 50 pounds
