The City of Galt is accepting applications for a part-time Custodian I/II. The Public Works Department seeks a dependable individual capable of working independently and efficiently completing tasks. Experience in maintenance, repair, and installation is preferred. Due to access to secured facilities, candidates must pass a federal security background check.
Employees in this "at-will" position perform unskilled and semi-skilled custodial tasks under supervision. Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis and the recruitment may close without notice once sufficient applications are received.
Supervision: Receives general supervision from Facilities Supervisor or Public Works Maintenance Manager. The Level II may supervise lower-level staff and volunteers. The role involves shift work and duties during non-business hours.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, with desirable experience in maintenance, repair, and installation. A valid Class C California driver’s license with a satisfactory record is required. Candidates must pass a federal security background check for access to secured areas.
Work conditions involve outdoor and indoor environments, with availability for evening, weekend, or shift work. Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, lifting (30-50 pounds), and exposure to environmental hazards such as chemicals and fumes.
