Job summary

Grayson College in Denison, Texas, seeks a Part-Time Maintenance Custodian to help keep campus facilities clean during the early morning shift.

This 19-hour-per-week position pays $13.00 per hour, with work hours from 2:00 am to 6:00 am, Monday through Friday during regular school sessions. Hours may shift during summer but remain 19 per week. Overtime may be required for events.

Qualifications

• Up to six months of similar or related experience. Two years responsible experience in a similar custodial job preferred.
• Must be able to operate cleaning equipment.
• Must be able to follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Must have basic computer skills to include the ability to use computer for online training.
• Moderate physical exertion is required including walking, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, twisting, stretching, and reaching.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.

Responsibilities

• Empties, sanitizes, and relines trash receptacles.
• Sweeps and mops floors.
• Cleans and sanitizes bathroom and bathroom fixtures and refills disposable items.
• Vacuums rooms with carpeting.
• Strips, scrubs, seals and buffs tile floors.
• Cleans carpets.
• Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Part-Time Maintenance Custodian:

Performs various custodial tasks to ensure the cleanliness of college facilities.

Hourly rate is $13.00 per hour.

This is a 19 hours a week position. Work hours are:

2:00 am to 6:00 am Monday - Friday - during regular school sessions.

Work hours are altered during the campus summer hours but still will be 19 hours a week.

Overtime may be required for special events.

Responsibilities:

95% Performs general custodial duties of all buildings. Routine duties include but are not limited to the following:

• empties, sanitizes, and relines trash receptacles
• sweeps and mops floors
• cleans and sanitizes bathroom and bathroom fixtures and refills disposable items
• vacuums rooms with carpeting
• strips, scrubs, seals and buffs tile floors
• cleans carpets

5% Performs other job related duties as assigned.
