Position Title: Custodian
Location: Brownsville, TX
FLSA: Non-Exempt

Job Summary

Maintains the cleanliness of the facility to meet client satisfaction.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform janitorial cleaning tasks such as vacuuming (using a 25 lb. vacuum daily for 3-4 hours), wet mopping, sweeping, dusting, and trash removal (lifting wastepaper and debris - minimum of 55 lbs).
• Clean and disinfect drinking fountains and restrooms, including floors and fixtures (urinals, toilets, sinks, mirrors, partitions, counters).
• Fill dispensers and stock supplies in restrooms.
• Wash windows and sills (door glass).
• Work overtime and on weekends as necessary to meet schedules.
• Walk up and down stairs frequently, and perform bending and standing tasks daily.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Supervision

Receives supervision from the Lead Supervisor. No formal supervisory responsibilities. Must complete jobs independently.

Working Conditions

Indoor and outdoor environments. Standing and walking for prolonged periods. Heavy physical work, including lifting up to 55 lbs. Exposure to hazards, chemicals, extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, and loud noises.

Policy

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Background check required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to understand written and verbal instructions and safety procedures.

• Ability to operate electronic devices, vacuums, and cleaning equipment safely.
• Ability to lift and manipulate objects up to 55 pounds.
• Valid Class C Driver’s License.
