Iberville Parish School Board is seeking a dedicated custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment across school facilities. The role involves floor care, window cleaning, restroom sanitation, and routine building maintenance, with emphasis on efficient use of supplies and adherence to health codes.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure health and safety codes are properly applied.
• Perform cleaning duties: sweep, mop, strip and wax floors, vacuum carpets, wash windows and walls, clean restrooms and other areas.
• Maintain and operate cleaning equipment; assist in basic building maintenance and repairs.
• Move furniture and equipment as needed; load/unload supplies and deliver packages as required.
• Support in implementing quality improvements and assist co-workers to ensure continuity of service.

JOB GOAL

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure that all health and safety codes are properly applied.
• Locks and unlocks doors, checks the security of school building and grounds, and activates the burglar alarm.
• Sweeps and wet and dry mops floors.
• Strips and waxes floors and operates buffing machine.
• Vacuums and cares for carpeting.
• Washes windows and walls and polishes furniture.
• Cleans restrooms, kitchen area, cafeteria and overhead lights.
• Folds and unfolds chairs and moves furniture.
• Dusts woodwork, furniture and other articles.
• Picks up paper and debris on grounds.
• Checks heating and air-conditioning equipment for proper operation.
• Raises and lowers flag.
• Makes minor repairs to buildings, building equipment and furniture.
• Delivers packages and messages.
• Empties and cleans waste receptacles.
• Maintains equipment and materials used in the workplace.
• Assists in loading and unloading trucks and carries packages.
• Performs simple painting and other trades tasks.
• Cleans and sweeps bleachers.
• Cuts grass and hedges and rakes clipping.
• Cleans chalkboards and chalk sills.
• Identifies opportunities and recommends methods to improve service, work processes and financial performance. Assist in the implementation of quality improvement initiatives. Assists co-workers in the completion of tasks and assignments to ensure continuity of service. Orients new co-workers and actively supports teamwork throughout the school system.
• Performs any additional duties assigned by superintendent and/or evaluator.
