Job summary

Hawaiian Building Maintenance seeks a part-time Custodian team member in Honolulu, HI. The role involves maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of assigned areas, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and disinfecting surfaces. You will restock restrooms and manage waste, reporting issues to the supervisor as needed.

Ideal candidates are reliable and detail-oriented, able to work independently or in a team. Training is provided; prior custodial experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must successfully pass the HBM prescreen check.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Ability to comprehend verbal and written instructions in English.
• Previous experience in custodial, housekeeping, or similar fields is preferred, although not mandatory.
• A valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle are preferred, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of assigned areas.
• Sweep, mop, dust, vacuum, and disinfect surfaces.
• Restock supplies in restrooms (soap, paper towels, toilet paper, seat covers, trash bags).
• Empty trash and recycling bins.
• Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor.
• Perform other tasks as directed by the HBM supervisor.

Job description

We are seeking to hire part-time Custodian team member. This involves sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and disinfecting surfaces. Employees will also be responsible for restocking supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper in restrooms, seat covers, and trash bags, as well as emptying trash and recycling bins. Any maintenance issues or safety hazards must be reported to the supervisor promptly, following safety procedures and perform other tasks as directed by the HBM supervisor. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently or as part of a team. Skills and Qualifications

• Cleaning common areas
• Frequently lifting, pushing, pressing, pulling, and carrying a minimum of 25 pounds (up to 50 pounds)
• Reaching overhead, grasping objects, bending, kneeling, crawling, squatting, climbing, stretching, and walking up and down stairways
• Using elevators, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods throughout shifts.
