Job Responsibilities
- Perform routine and project cleaning of assigned classrooms, offices, and corridors, including emptying waste receptacles, vacuuming or sweeping floors, cleaning sinks and fountains, furniture, and refinish floors.
- Coordinate, schedule, and provide work direction to custodial staff under the Facilities Manager’s guidance.
- Clean and disinfect lavatories and locker rooms, including fixtures, sinks, walls, floors, mirrors, and dispensers, and manage odor control.
- Perform minor maintenance such as changing filters, light bulbs, lubricating univents, and small painting projects.
- Secure the facility by locking windows and doors, operating security lights, and activating alarms.
- Perform exterior maintenance like lawn mowing, trimming, cleaning windows, and ensuring walkways are clear of ice and snow.
- Operate equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, carpet extractors, pressure washers, snow blowers, lawn mowers, and power brooms.
- Report repairs to the head custodian.
- Carry the building cell phone and lock the building at night.
- Monitor and report issues with heating, cooling, ventilation, and life safety systems during the night shift.
- Possess or obtain a special engineer/boiler operator’s license within six months.
- Demonstrate leadership, interpersonal skills, and customer service orientation.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Maintain organized records and demonstrate accurate mathematical skills.
- Complete a physical capabilities examination as required.
Assignment & Compensation
8 hours/day, 12 months/year, from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.
Minimum pay: $22.09/hour plus 75 cents/hour differential; shift differential of 45 cents/hour for second shift.

Job Qualifications
