As the largest behavioral health complex in the state, inpatient/residential care is provided to over 250 New Mexicans every day, along with 400 outpatient clients a month. There are over 600 employees across all the divisions of NMBHI to ensure high-quality treatment and care is delivered.

Salary

$15.45 - $23.18 Hourly
$32,136 - $48,204 Annually

Why does the job exist?

Custodians perform a variety of heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing trash. They may fix leaky faucets, empty trash cans, do painting and carpentry, replenish bathroom supplies, mow lawns, and see that heating and air-conditioning equipment works properly. Janitors may wet- or dry-mop floors, clean bathrooms, vacuum carpets, dust furniture, make minor repairs, and exterminate insects and rodents.

Ideal Candidate

The Ideal Candidate would have:

• Experience in housekeeping, environmental services or custodial work;
• Knowledge of proper cleaning, sanitation and infection control practices;
• Ability to work independent and follow established cleaning procedures;
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work assigned schedules.

Minimum Qualification

No Prior Experience Or Training Required.

Employment Requirements

• Must possess and maintain a valid NM Drivers License.
• Must obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an indoor setting and may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles or caustic chemicals. Lifting, pushing, pulling, transferring, and/or carrying up to fifty (50) pounds.Position may be required to work rotating shifts, weekends, overtime, and holidays.
