Job summary

Central Bucks School District is seeking a Custodian - Mid-Shift for West High. The role runs 10:00am to 6:30pm with benefits, starting for the 2026-2027 school year. Primary duties include cleaning, trash removal, floor care, and lavatory sanitation at Central Bucks High School - West.

New hire will follow chemical handling procedures and operate standard cleaning equipment; snow removal and event support are also included as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate common cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
• Follow standard procedures for diluting chemicals and applying floor finishes.

Responsibilities

• Collect and discard trash and debris from assigned areas.
• Maintain floors by sweeping, vacuuming, mopping and spot cleaning.
• Clean and disinfect lavatories thoroughly and regularly.
• Clean glass surfaces and mirrors; wipe down fixtures as needed.
• Participate in group cleaning projects and shared duties.
• Assist with arranging furniture and moving items as required.
• Respond to weather events with snow removal and salting duties.
• Perform security checks and report any concerns.
• Assist at outdoor sporting events as needed by supervision.
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisors.

LOCATION: Central Bucks High School - West

AVAILABLE: 2026/2027 SCHOOL YEAR

COMPENSATION: $21.15 p/hr

HOURS: 10:00am-6:30pm

DESCRIPTION: This job involves a variety of cleaning tasks to ensure a hygienic and safe environment. Key responsibilities include collecting and discarding trash, maintaining floors through sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and spot cleaning, and thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting lavatory areas. You will be tasked in cleaning glass surfaces and mirrors, participating in group cleaning projects, and maintaining furniture and fixtures. Additionally, the job includes assisting with furniture arrangement, responding to inclement weather conditions by removing snow and salting, performing security checks, and offering assistance for our outdoor sporting events as needed. Other duties may be assigned as needed by supervisors or managers.

REQUIREMENTS: Ability to properly use all types of commercial vacuum cleaners, stripping machines, floor scrubbers, available for snow removal (ability to use shovel & snow blower), and any special tools or equipment assigned to perform duties.
Must be able to follow standard procedures for diluting chemicals, floor finishes and use of cleaning chemicals.
