DEPARTMENT: General Operations

REPORTS TO: Office & Operations Manager & Corps Officer(s)

SUPERVISES: Volunteers

STATUS: Non-Exempt

SCHEDULE: Varies as needed based on program requirements to fill the full-time position.

FUNCTION: The custodian/driver will work flexible hours as directed by the Corps Officers and programming needs. Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing the church building and vehicles, completing minor repairs and maintenance, providing transportation for special events, and assisting with pickups and drop-offs for church programming.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize all surfaces daily as needed.
• Deep clean and sanitize all surfaces weekly.
• Empty and dispose of trash as needed.
• Tidy up restrooms daily.
• Sweep all floors daily.
• Mop floors daily or as needed.
• Maintain the outside of the property, including trash pickup.
• Perform minor repairs as needed.
• Maintain/clean church vehicles monthly.
• Perform snow removal on sidewalks.
• Drive youth and adults to/from Camp Swoneky.
• Transport clients to shelters as needed.
• Pick up donations when required.
• Assist with driving during busy seasons like daycamp and Christmas.
• Perform ongoing maintenance and repairs to facilities and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Corps Officers.

Other Duties

• Operate tools and equipment safely.
• Possess basic janitorial skills (cleaning, painting, small repairs).
• Be organized and efficient, capable of multi-tasking and prioritizing.
• Maintain professionalism and communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, and community members.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding clientele.
• Maintain a positive and professional work environment.
• Ability to drive a 12-passenger van.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One to two years of related janitorial/maintenance experience.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing.
