Overview

DEPARTMENT: General Operations

REPORTS TO: Office & Operations Manager & Corps Officer(s)

SUPERVISES: Volunteers

STATUS: Non-Exempt

SCHEDULE: Varies as needed to fill the full-time position based on program requirements.

Function

The custodian/driver will work flexible hours as directed by the Corps Officers and programming needs. Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing the church building and vehicles, minor repairs, transportation for events, and pickup/drop-off duties.

Responsibilities

• Daily cleaning and sanitizing of all surfaces.
• Weekly deep cleaning and sanitizing.
• Trash disposal and restroom tidying daily.
• Floor sweeping daily and mopping as needed.
• Maintaining the exterior of the property.
• Performing minor repairs and vehicle maintenance monthly.
• Snow removal from sidewalks.
• Driving duties including transporting youth, adults, and donations.
• Supporting busy seasons with additional driving tasks.
• Performing ongoing upkeep and repairs.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Operate tools and equipment safely.
• Basic janitorial skills required.
• Organized, efficient, and able to multitask.
• Professional communication skills with staff, volunteers, and clients.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Maintain a positive work environment.
• Ability to drive a 12-passenger van.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1-2 years related janitorial/maintenance experience.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing.
