Job summary

Upper Valley Haven is seeking a reliable Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at the Leahy Shelter and Resource Center in White River Junction, VT. The role runs Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with some holidays and non-traditional hours.

Responsibilities include cleaning, floor care, trash removal, restocking, and seasonal grounds maintenance. Benefits eligible, with a mission-driven workplace and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub, and maintain floors and surfaces.
• Remove trash and recycling from indoor and outdoor areas.

• Perform seasonal grounds maintenance, including snow removal.
• Identify and report facility maintenance needs.
• Support the Maintenance Coordinator and facility operations.
• Help create a welcoming and respectful environment for guests, clients, staff, and volunteers.

Upper Valley Haven is seeking a reliable and community-minded Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at the Leahy Shelter and Resource Center. This position plays an essential role in supporting individuals and families experiencing housing instability by ensuring shelter and resource center spaces reflect the Haven's commitment to dignity, safety, and hospitality.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Some holidays and non-traditional hours may be required.
