Job summary

Boulder County Public Works Department seeks two Custodian Leads to supervise custodial staff across county facilities. This full-time, non-exempt role involves evening hours (Mon-Thu 4:30pm–1:30am, Fri 4:30pm–10:30pm) and requires residency in Colorado as of day one of work.

We expect a minimum of three years in commercial custodial services, a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, and completion of a background check and pre-employment physical.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of experience in commercial custodial services.
• Background investigation with fingerprinting.
• Pre-employment physical required.
• Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and current automobile insurance.
• Ability to lead cleaning staff and cover Site Leader duties when needed.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors.
• Washes windows, sills, woodwork, doors, desks, walls and ceilings.
• Cleans and disinfects restrooms.
• Dusts, disinfects and vacuums offices and meeting rooms.
• Locks and unlocks doors, secures work areas and buildings.
• Collects and disposes of trash, recycle and compostable materials.
• Shampoos and extracts carpets.
• Assigns and directs cleaning staff during Site Leader absences.
• Assists Site Leader with training on cleaning techniques and equipment use.
• Identifies and assists staff on cleaning issues.
• Site and work assignments are based on need and can change at any time.
• May be re-assigned during emergency situations.

Boulder County Public Works Department is seeking to hire two Custodian Leads. Custodian Lead is a journey level classification. Working in a diverse and inclusive environment the Custodian Lead performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled duties in the routine maintenance of County buildings, assists the Site Leader by assigning and directing the work of custodians and provides occasional coverage for the Site Leader during absences.

This is a full-time, benefited position that will work Monday through Thursday 4:30pm to 1:30am, Friday 4:30pm to 10:30pm. This position will work at various locations though out Boulder County. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is non-exempt.

Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.

Hiring Salary Range:

$52,008.00 - $57,150.00 annually

Tentative Hiring Timeline:

• First Round Interviews: September 24th
• Reference Check: September 28th

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Boulder County is looking for well qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged. In this position, we are looking for a minimum of

• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with staff, management and County building users.
