The YMCA of Orange County has an immediate need for a Custodian at our Laguna Nigel YMCA. This position will performcustodial duties, including dusting, mopping, finishing and buffing floors, vacuuming and shampooing carpets, cleaning and restocking restrooms. Perform facility and equipment inspections as well as maintaining and restocking custodial supplies. Other duties include identifying, reporting, and executing minor repairs. This is a part time position that will be working Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday.
Responsibilities/Duties:
• Perform custodial tasks including but not limited to: dusting, mopping, finishing and buffing floors, vacuuming and shampooing carpets, cleaning and restocking restrooms on time and with attention to detail.
• Maintain and restock custodial supplies such as soap, toilet paper, paper towels, trash lines, and other items as needed.
• Maintain and clean windows, mirrors, cardio equipment, strength equipment, and fans in facility.
• Maintain and dust interior plants in facility.
• Perform facility and equipment inspections, identify maintenance and housekeeping needs.
• Mixes cleaning solutions and chemicals in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions.
• Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners.
• Comply with all safety & health procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Follow and enforce safety standards and other policies and procedures.
• Identify, report, and execute minor repairs as necessary.
• Carry out all responsibilities in an honest, ethical and professional manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:The following are the minimum qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties & responsibilities of this position. Please note that the minimum qualifications may vary based upon the department size and/or geographic location
Education & Certification:
• Must be 18 years of age or older. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience & Background:
• Experience as a custodian preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
• Excellent organizing skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer and results orientation.
• Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.
• Ability to be an effective member of project teams.
