Responsibilities

• General cleaning, including sweeping, carpet and blinds cleaning, waste disposal, and refilling dispensers.
• Clean light fixtures and replace bulbs.
• Yard work, mowing, trimming, and field maintenance.
• Keep walkways clear of ice and snow.
• Receive and store supplies for the building cafeteria.
• Move and arrange furniture for school events.
• Assist with additional requests from the building principal and engineer.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Principal Duties

• General cleaning, such as sweeping, cleaning of carpets and blinds, emptying waste receptacles, cleaning toilet facilities and filling dispensers
• Clean light fixtures and replace bulbs
• Do yard work such as mowing, trimming, general cleanup and marking athletic fields
• Keep walkways and entries clear of ice and snow
• Help with receiving and storing supplies for the building cafeteria
• Move and arrange furniture for school functions
• Carry out additional requests of the building principal and engineer, as needed
• Other duties may be assigned

Physical Demands

The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, use hands and fingers, squat, stoop, kneel, reach above the head, push/pull or lift/move heavy objects throughout the work day. The job may require exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally.

Working Environment

The work environment is usually quiet but may require hearing protection. The employee will work on a variety of surfaces inside and outside during hot or cold weather, rain, snow, sleet, and icy conditions.
