The State of Vermont is hiring a BGS Custodian II for the Waterbury Complex. This role involves general cleaning duties, requiring a valid driver's license and background checks. Positions available with varied shifts, offering a sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits.
Buildings and General Services (BGS) at the State of Vermont has an exciting opportunity with room for growth as a BGS Custodian II. The individual will be working in the Waterbury Complex performing general cleaning duties, which includes working both as part of a team and independently.
We are currently hiring for two positions, both working Monday through Friday. The first position will work 6am to 2:30pm, and the second will work 12pm to 8:30pm. Please indicate in your application if you have a shift preference. These positions require a valid drivers license and successful completion of multiple background checks.

Duties are performed during an assigned shift at one or more state owned or leased buildings. Cleaning work often involves addressing bloodborne pathogens and other potentially infections material. Incumbents must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather. Good physical condition and ability to climb ladders and lift weights of up to 50-lbs. is necessary. Overtime and evening work may be required.
One (1) year or more of building custodial work that includes floor maintenance tasks such as stripping and waxing floors and carpet extraction.
OR
One (1) year as a BGS Custodian I.
Some positions in this class require a valid driver's license and own transportation for travel between work locations.
Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position.
