Job Description

The Custodian II performs moderately complex custodial work, including cleaning, disinfecting, operating floor maintenance equipment, and assisting in building inspections and minor repairs. The role involves maintaining cleanliness and safety in a healthcare environment, working under general supervision, and supporting agency disaster response efforts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing.
• Maintain floors, restrooms, and other areas according to safety procedures.
• Inspect and report on building cleanliness and repairs.
• Assist with minor maintenance and equipment upkeep.
• Maintain inventory and documentation accurately.
• Support health and safety standards to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications and Skills

• Knowledge of cleaning methods, sanitation regulations, and infection control.
• Skills in operating custodial equipment safely.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand/walk for extended periods, and follow instructions.
• Six months of custodial/housekeeping experience preferred; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Additional Requirements

• Pass background checks, drug screening, and registry checks.
• Must be at least 18 years old; males 18-25 must register with Selective Service.
• Immunization compliance required.
