Job summary

Harford County Public Schools is seeking a Custodian I for Abingdon Elementary School to perform routine cleaning, maintenance and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment.

Qualifications

• One year of custodial, mechanical trade or related experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
• May be required to hold and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and clean floors in classrooms, offices, corridors and shops.
• Use custodial equipment such as vacuums, scrubbing machines and buffers.
• Collect and dispose of trash; unload and store supplies.
• Assist in snow removal and lawn/playground maintenance.

Skills

One year custodial experience

Lifts up to 50 pounds

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred

Minimum ninth grade education
