Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cleaning, sanitizing, and servicing of assigned work areas including sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and restroom cleaning.
  • Conduct detailed cleaning of walls, doors, windows, fixtures, and other surfaces.
  • Execute weekly floor projects such as buffing, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and sealing of hard floors.
  • Collect and properly dispose of trash and biohazard waste to designated locations.
  • Assist with moving furniture, supplies, and equipment as needed for project work.
  • Perform snow removal when required.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by management.

Job description

Overview

Housekeeping and Custodial Services for the Division of Facilities Management – North District, Colorado Department of Human Services. The role maintains cleanliness, safety, and sanitary conditions across multiple health and youth service facilities in the Northern Region, including the Colorado Mental Health Hospital at Fort Logan, Wheat Ridge Regional Center, and several Youth Services Centers.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Perform daily cleaning, sanitizing, and servicing of assigned work areas including sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and restroom cleaning.
  • Conduct detailed cleaning of walls, doors, windows, fixtures, and other surfaces.
  • Execute weekly floor projects such as buffing, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and sealing of hard floors; spot clean, shampoo, and extract carpeted areas.
  • Collect and properly dispose of trash and biohazard waste to designated locations.
  • Assist with moving furniture, supplies, and equipment as needed for project work.
  • Perform snow removal when required.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications
  • At least three months of full‑time cleaning experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience cleaning and maintaining facilities such as schools, hospitals, long‑term care centers, mental health institutes, or correctional institutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform sweeping, mopping, restroom cleaning, trash emptying, dusting, and vacuuming in similar environments.
  • Relevant years of state service experience.
Work Hours & Conditions

The position is open in a continuous schedule until all positions are filled. Work may be scheduled during evenings, weekends or other hours as needed for coverage, weather related issues, or essential and emergency services. Call‑back periods may be required with a minimum of two hours of base pay.
