Job summary

City of Pasadena, TX is seeking a Custodian to perform general custodial work inside and outside city facilities, including floors, offices, restrooms, and common areas. Daily tasks include trash removal, cleaning, vacuuming, and surface cleaning of desks and equipment.

Weekly duties expand to shelves, windows, and equipment; monthly deep cleaning and special projects. Compliance with city timekeeping and clearance requirements is required for this role.

Qualifications

• Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Remove trash and replace bags daily.
• Clean restrooms and kitchen area.
• Vacuum as needed; dust, polish and clean tables and shelves in office areas.
• Clean telephones, windows and doors visible to public.
• Shelve materials; assist with donated material disposition.
• Weekly: sweep, mop and vacuum; book shelves and wall cleaning; clean windows/doors outside daily schedule; dust and clean computer equipment.
• Turn in supply list for replenishing supplies.
• Monthly: heavy floor cleaning; special projects; comply with city timekeeping and attendance policies.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain, without interruption, all necessary licenses, certifications, clearances, and/or job requirements.
