Job Summary

Are you seeking an opportunity to contribute to a clean, safe, and welcoming environment while supporting health and wellness?Join our team as a Custodian! Custodians are part of the housekeeping team, which cleans and maintains the interiors and furnishings of state institutions and facilities. This position includes but is not limited to washing, wiping down surfaces, dusting, scrubbing, scouring, laundry, disinfecting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, buffing, polishing surfaces, floors, walls, windows, lavatories, showers, furnishings, and collecting and disposing of trash.

The current operating hours of the Center are:

• Monday through Thursday: 5 am to 10 pm
• Fridays: 5 am to 9 pm
• Saturday and Sunday: 7 am to 5 pm

Shifts will fall during these hours, depending on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain safety of Facility by following all safety standards, procedures, and guidelines, including proper procedures for handling and disposing of hazardous materials and recycling.
• Ensures a safe and clean environment for Members and Associates by performing maintenance as necessary, responding to spills, operating floor scrubbers, cleaning and sanitizing locker rooms, bathrooms, etc.
• Assist in minor maintenance as necessary for the operation of various equipment, fixtures, etc.
• Ensures supplies and clean towels are rotated and stored in proper containers in preparation for their use and replenish when supplies are low.
• Cleans and polishes metal and glass surfaces.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor, Manager or Director.

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

The 30,000 sq ft, three-story Fitness Center at AHWC features state-of-the-art Technogym cardiovascular and Matrix resistance exercise equipment along with three dedicated studios for group exercise classes, a functional training space (FIT Lab), indoor track, pool, hot tub, locker rooms with dedicated steam rooms and saunas, and fitness assessment technology. The Fitness Center offers complimentary fitness consultation sessions, group exercise, personal training services, and massage. The Fitness Center supports over 3,100 members from the campus and community. The Fitness Center has more than 50 employees.

Physical Requirements

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to kneel, crouch, crawl, stoop, and reach.
• Tasks may involve ascending or descending and maintaining balance.
• The employee will be exposed to hazards that include but are not limited to proximity to mechanical parts, exposure to electric shock, working in high-exposed places, and exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Employees may also face exposure to infectious materials/human blood or bodily fluids.
• Tasks may involve exerting up to 50lbs of force occasionally, and or up to 20lbs of force frequently, and or up to 10lbs of force constantly to move objects.

Anticipated Pay Range

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $40,248 to $48,300.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
