Division: Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O) – responsible for planning, construction, facilities, safety, environmental health, transportation, housing, and auxiliary/retail operations across New Jersey.

Key Responsibilities

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Custodian - Housing for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O). Among the key duties of this position are the following:

• Performs a wide variety of routine custodial duties required to maintain buildings and grounds in a clean and habitable condition.
• Performs basic maintenance and repair duties on university facilities and equipment.

Compensation

• Minimum Salary: $33,711.88
• Mid Range Salary: $37,014.71
• Maximum Salary: $42,482.88
• Salary offer may consider qualifications, experience, and available department or grant funds. Market benchmarks and internal equity are also considered to ensure fair compensation.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education and Experience: No experience required.
• Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must be teachable; custodial experience is a plus.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work with vibrating equipment (e.g., vacuums, floor machines).
• Must be able to work with various cleaning chemicals.

Special Conditions

• Shift hours/Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Work Hours

Standard Hours: 40.00 hours per week. Work arrangement: Full time, regular schedule.
