ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB:

• Cleans, dusts, and disinfects all assigned areas, including wiping flat surfaces, ledges and high-touch areas.
• Cleans, dusts, and disinfects assigned restrooms/shower rooms.
• Removes trash, restocks supplies, and mops floors of assigned areas.
• Cleans and disinfects mattresses and bedframes.
• Cleans and disinfects all handrails and high-touch surfaces, and dusts/mops/wet mops floors, of assigned hallway(s) and common area(s), including but not limited to: break rooms, dining rooms, public restrooms, and nursing stations.
• Dusts and mops stairwells and doorframes.
• Cleans and disinfects elevators and tracks.
• Vaccums carpeted areas as assigned.
• Reports any maintenance or safety concerns to maintenance or supervisor.
• Climbing a ladder to perform high dusting, taking down and putting up privacy cubicle curtains, valences when soiled.
• Cleans counters, windows and window seals, furniture, etc.
• Cleans glass doors and mirrors..
• Floor Care as-assigned: Buffs hallway floors. Strips and waxes floors as required. Cleans carpets and shampooing as required, performed by floor care.
• Treats all residents with dignity and respect. Promotes and protects all residents’ rights.
• Establishes a culture of compliance by adhering to all facility policies and procedures.
• Complies with standards of business conduct, as well as state/federal regulations and guidelines.
• Follows appropriate safety and hygiene measures at all times to protect residents and oneself.
• Maintains confidentiality of protected health information, including verbal, written, and electronic communications.
• Participates in all life safety and emergency drills and trainings. Fulfills responsibilities as assigned during implementation or activation of the facility’s emergency plans.
• Reports work-related injuries and illnesses immediately to supervisor.
• Follows established infection control policies and procedures.
• As a condition of employment, completes all assigned trainings and skills competencies.
• Maintains work area(s) in a clean and properly arranged manner at all times.
• Attends/completes annual and monthly in-services and trainings as required.

OTHER DUTIES OF JOB:

• Promotes teamwork, mutual respect, and effective communication.Promotes positivity and active daily problem solving.
• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
• Must not pose a threat to the health and safety of other individuals in the work place.
• Ability to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
• Attends meetings, trainings, seminars as required.
• Performs other tasks as necessary in the absence of other co-workers.
• Reports noncompliance with policies, procedures, regulations, or breaches in confidentiality to appropriate personnel. Reports any retaliation or discrimination to HR or compliance officer.
• Reports any allegations of abuse, neglect, misappropriation of property, exploitation, or mistreatment of residents to appropriate persons.Protects residents from abuse, and cooperates with all investigations.
• Reports any occupational exposures to infectious materials and/or hazardous chemicals in accordance with facility policy.

Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions:

1. High school graduate or equivalent required.
2. 1 year prior housekeeping/custodial experience preferred.
