Job Description

Custodian (Head, FT)
Windsor, CT, United States of America
$19.00/hr

Responsibilities include:

• Supervising custodial staff and participating in cleaning and maintenance tasks.
• Developing departmental policies and procedures.
• Providing leadership, guidance, and training to custodial personnel.
• Maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Inspecting work to ensure quality standards.
• Making recommendations for safety improvements and cost reductions.
• Performing minor repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Ensuring safety protocols are followed.
• Scheduling staff coverage and conducting training sessions.
• Maintaining records of training and operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with at least 5 years of custodial experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting systems.
• Ability to read, interpret safety and maintenance manuals, and communicate effectively in English; fluency in Spanish preferred.
• Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting up to 50 pounds and working in various environments.
• Experience with safety procedures and equipment maintenance.

Work Environment

Work involves exposure to chemicals, hazardous materials, moving mechanical parts, and outdoor conditions. Moderate noise levels are typical.
