Job summary

Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM) in Honolulu is seeking a dedicated Custodian for the graveyard shift (10:00 PM – 6:30 AM) to keep our shopping center spotless and welcoming for daytime guests. Responsibilities include cleaning restrooms, common areas, interior and exterior surfaces, and managing trash.

Must follow safety procedures and lift 25–50 lbs as needed; previous janitorial experience is a plus and English fluency is required. We offer full-time employment with a $19/hour rate.

Qualifications

• Must pass HBM prescreen check.

Schedule: Graveyard Shift (10:00 PM to 6:30 AM)

Hourly rate: $19.00

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and maintain common areas of the building's common areas. From cleaning restrooms, walk paths, open areas, to tables and chairs, your attention to detail will ensure a welcoming environment.
• Tackle the cleaning of both the interior and exterior of the facility. This includes sweeping, dusting, mopping, sanitizing, and wiping down surfaces, all while using specialized equipment. Remove trash and replace liners, ensuring waste is disposed of properly, while keeping supplies fully stocked.
• Efficiently manage trash removal in designated areas.
• Adhere to all safety procedures, and promptly report any safety concerns or building issues, such as burnt-out light bulbs, to management.
• Embrace the physical demands of the role, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, grasping, kneeling, and lifting a minimum of 25 pounds up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Perform other task assigned by HBM supervisor.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Must pass HBM prescreen check.
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent is preferred
• Ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions in English is necessary
• Good Public Relations And Communication Skills Are Essential.
• Previous janitorial, custodian or related experience is preferred, and willing to train
• Applicants must be capable of performing basic manual labor, including: Cleaning common areas pressing, pushing, and pulling, frequently lifting and carrying a minimum of 25lbs (up to 50lbs). Reaching overhead, grasping objects, bending, kneeling, walking, crawling, squatting, climbing, and stretching. Navigating stairs and using a ladder, as well as standing for the duration of their shifts
