Job summary

Goodwill of North Georgia is seeking a Custodian to maintain the cleanliness of the CDC Clifton location in Atlanta. You will perform daily cleaning tasks, dusting, mopping, and other duties that require moderate physical effort to keep the building safe and welcoming.

This role supports our mission to help local job seekers by maintaining a clean workplace; benefits include weekly pay, PTO, insurance options, a staff discount, uniforms, and access to job skills training.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and maintain a positive attitude during repetitive tasks.
• Ability to perform manual tasks requiring moderate physical strength with cleaning equipment.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to establish positive working relationships with supervisor and coworkers.
• Ability to comply with Federal vaccine mandate per contract site.

Responsibilities

• Dust, mop, sweep, damp mop tile floors and stairwells.
• Dust and clean walls, doors, windows and other surfaces above floor.
• Dust, clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Police common areas.

What you’ll be doing

As a Custodian you will help to maintain the cleanliness of the CDC Clifton location, the leading national public health institute of the United States. You’ll complete the manual labor associated with the daily cleaning of the building. You will also perform various duties requiring moderate physical strength which would include but are not limited to the following:

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for dusting, mopping, sweeping, damp mopping tile floors and stairwells.
• Dust and clean walls, doors, windows and other surfaces above floor.
• Dust, clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Police common areas.

Requirements:

• General knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment.
• You’ll need to be able to stand for long periods of time and maintain a positive attitude while engaging in repetitive tasks.
• The ability to perform manual tasks requiring moderate physical strength which may include the use of cleaning equipment deemed necessary to perform the daily duties of the position.
• The ability to follow oral and written instructions
• The ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with your supervisor and other co-workers.
• Ability to comply with Federal vaccine mandate per contract site with or without a reasonable accommodation.
