Job summary

Service Management Systems is seeking a Custodial Floater to support Greater Clark County Schools in Indiana. The starting rate is $19.00 per hour, with responsibilities including cleaning and maintaining multiple school facilities and assisting with training and administrative duties as needed.

The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, operate cleaning equipment, and travel between sites as call-offs occur.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in janitorial housekeeping preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short memos, and basic forms.

Responsibilities

• Clean rooms, hallways, restrooms, and other areas throughout facilities.
• Operate equipment such as burnishers, scrubbers, and pressure washers.
• Assist with training and administrative duties as needed.
• Assist with moving and lifting tasks up to 50 pounds.

Service Management Systems is Hiring for a Custodial Floater for Greater Clark County Schools

Starting at $19.00 per hour

Custodial Floaters will assist with traveling to schools needed based on call offs, missing personnel, assist with training, etc.

Summary

Keeps premises of commercial and institutional buildings in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Assist with administrative duties such as training and filling in training forms
• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
• Lifting chairs and place them over tables (approx. chair weight: 20-25 lbs.)
• Moving chemicals (5 gal buckets -- approx. weight 40+ lbs.)
• Moving tables (approx. weight 40+ lbs.)
• Operates different types of equipment (i.e. burnishers, scrubbers, pressurewasher)
• Uses ManLift or ScissorLift Machine as needed
• Washes windows, door panels, and sills

Education/Experience

Prior experience in janitorial housekeeping preferred

Language Ability

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Math Ability

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Computer Skills

Basic computer skills desired but not required.
