Responsibilities

  • Following established cleaning procedures and techniques as directed by leadership.
  • Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors; dust and polish furniture and woodwork.
  • Clean restrooms and replenish supplies.
  • Empty and clean waste and recycling receptacles; pick up paper and trash.
  • Clean relight glass, windows, and walls.
  • Clean decks, balconies, sidewalks, offices, and common spaces.
  • Set up, move, and arrange furniture and equipment.
  • Turn out lights and lock doors and windows as required.
  • Maintain custodial areas and equipment.
  • Unload supply deliveries and organize materials.
  • Launder housekeeping materials as requested by leadership.
  • Work on special projects and clean other facilities as assigned.
  • Report safety concerns to the Supervisor.
  • Follow Wake Forest policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Job Description
Essential Functions
  • Upon direction and training from the Team Lead of Custodial Services, following established cleaning procedures and techniques.
  • Completes duties not limited to sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping floors; dusting and polishing furniture and woodwork.
  • Cleans restrooms and replenishes supplies.
  • Empties and cleans waste and recycling receptacles; picks up paper and trash.
  • Cleans relight glass, windows, and walls.
  • Cleans decks, balconies, sidewalks, offices, laundry rooms, and common space areas.
  • Sets up, moves, and arranges furniture and equipment.
  • Turns out lights and locks doors and windows, as required.
  • Maintains custodial areas and equipment so they are clean and presentable.
  • Unloads supply deliveries and organizes materials as needed.
  • Launder housekeeping materials as requested by leadership.
  • Works on special projects and cleans other facilities, as assigned.
  • Reports all matters of safety to the Supervisor.
  • Follows all University and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by departmental leadership.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

High school graduate plus one year of work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements

Climbing, stooping, kneeling, standing, walking either within your respective areas or between areas on campus, lifting up to 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, and grasping.

Environmental Conditions

Subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions and hazards.
