Cobb County Government is seeking a full-time custodial worker for the Facilities Management Department in Marietta, GA. The starting pay does not exceed $17.34 per hour and includes a requirement to pass an extensive background check and GCIC certification.
Responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining county buildings, offices, restrooms and public spaces, operating a range of cleaning equipment, and supporting inventory and security tasks as needed.
This full time position will be assigned to the Facilites Management Department.
The starting pay will not exceed $17.34 per hour. Employment in this position requires successful completion of an extensive background check and will need to become GCIC certified.
Provides custodial duties to county buildings, facilities and parks: vacuums, sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes, and/or shampoos carpet and floor surfaces located in hallways, stairs, offices, restrooms, kitchens, public rooms, elevators, storage rooms, and other areas.
High School Diploma or GED preferred; supplemented by one year of work experience that shows an ability to maintain steady employment in any field.
Tasks require the ability to exert heavy physical effort in heavy work, with greater emphasis on climbing and balancing, but typically also involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds); may occasionally involve heavier objects and materials (up to 100 pounds).
Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, taste, odor, depth, texture, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
While performing the essential functions of this position the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals, work near moving mechanical parts, and risk of electrical shock.
