Eatonville School District #404 is seeking a Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming learning environment for students and staff. The role includes cleaning facilities, arranging furnishings for events, and delivering supplies.
Evenings and weekends are required. A high school diploma or equivalent and prior school or institutional experience are preferred. Lifting up to 50 pounds and safety compliance are part of the duties, with SEBB benefits.
Hours as needed; evenings and weekends required.
Rates are for 25-26 school year and do not reflect any potential increases for the 26-27 school year
The job of "Custodian" is done for the purpose/s of maintaining an attractive, sanitary and safe facility; providing adequate arrangements for meetings, classroom activities and events; minimizing property damage, loss and liability exposure, ensuring that assignments are completed in a safe, proper and timely manner and directing assigned custodians as necessary.
Ability to stand for prolonged periods, follow oral and written instruction, adhere to safe work practices, work independently and with minimal supervision, perform a variety of tasks, adjust to flexible assignments often with short notice, and communicate with students, staff and the public.
Mental Demands: Usual office working conditions with exposure to numerous distractions and interruptions. Flow of work and character of duties involve normal mental and visual attention much or all of the time. Requires concentration and attention to detail for repetitive tasks; may deal with distraught or difficult individuals.
Physical Demands: Significant physical abilities include lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling, stooping, reaching/handling, near/far visual acuity/depth perception. Must be able to lift, carry, pull and/or push up to 50 pounds. Examples of lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling are furniture, wastebaskets, dumpsters, ladders, floor polishers, vacuums; stooping is trash, sweeping, vacuuming; reaching/handling are vacuum, supplies, broom; visual acuity/depth perception is seeing where to clean, vandalism.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals, wax strippers and electric cleaning equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Protective equipment: rubber gloves, safety glasses, dust mask provided by school district. Protective shoes (no open toes or heels, sandals, thongs, slippers) to be provided by employee.
Employment is contingent upon successful clearance of a Washington State Patrol, FBI fingerprint criminal history background check, and Sexual Misconduct background check.
