Federal Way Public Schools is seeking a Secondar y School Custodian to perform custodial, building and grounds maintenance and cleaning tasks on a swing shift from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
The role requires basic custodial experience, adherence to safety standards, and effective communication with the principal or supervisor. Responsibilities include classroom, lavatory, gym, cafeteria cleaning and building security.
Perform a wide variety of custodial, building and grounds maintenance and cleaning tasks. Assume responsibility for a specific area of building and grounds. Report any preventative maintenance tasks that need to be done to the Head Custodian.
Give assistance to and work harmoniously with community groups as needed.

Education and Experience: A minimum of 6 months of custodial experience.

This position requires physical stamina. This position will lift at least 35 lbs. on a regular basis and at least 50 lbs. on an occasional basis.

Position requires operating dangerous mechanical systems and/or machines, exposure to noise, hazardous chemicals, high voltage, inclement weather and varying temperatures. Must be available to work unusual hours in emergencies.
This position typically works swing shift Monday through Friday.

Level B on the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Salary Schedule. This position includes the following benefits prorated based on FTE: medical, dental, vision, sick and vacation leave, life insurance and retirement.
