Job summary

Southwest Vermont Supervisory Union Mt. Anthony Union High School in Bennington, Vermont is seeking an Evening Custodian to maintain clean, safe facilities. Responsibilities include daily and weekly cleaning, event setup, and property maintenance. Immediate start with a full-time schedule and a wage of $18–$21 per hour.

Applicants should have a HS diploma or GED, 2–3 years custodial experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift 70 pounds. Residency or work visa may be required.

Responsibilities

• Summer cleaning: power washing, strip and wax floors.
• Assist in event setup/takedown for school activities.
• Maintain and store District property.
• Prioritize tasks and execute plans with minimal supervision.
• Attend District trainings and adhere to policies.

Job Description

• Keep District facilities in a neat, clean and safe condition.
• Perform daily custodial duties to include sweeping, mopping, dusting, and operating floor machines of classrooms, restrooms, and common areas as required.
• Perform weekly and monthly cleaning, waxing, and dusting requirements of classrooms, restrooms, and common areas.
• Perform Summer Cleaning to thoroughly clean (to include power washing as required), strip, and wax all floors in classrooms, restrooms, and common areas.
• As required assist in the set-up and takedown of bleachers, chairs, staging, and/or tables for special events throughout the school.
• Assist in the maintenance and storage of District property.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, develop effective plans, and execute plans with minimal supervision.
• Assist in restocking and expediting material within District facilities.
• Report unauthorized persons and/or damage to appropriate authority as required.
• Attend District training as required.
• Support the value of education and the philosophy and mission of the District.
• Adhere to all District policies and regulations.
• Perform such other tasks and assume other responsibilities as the supervisor may assign.
