Job description

Join us! We are hiring a Custodian Engineer I at the City of Saint Paul. The current vacancy is located within the Saint Paul Police Department, and the typical working schedule for this position is 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday. Weekends and holidays are required if snow removal is needed or there is an urgency/emergency, but not as part of the typical work schedule.

Here’s what you can expect to do:

• Clean and maintain grounds and buildings.
• Assist with the maintenance of a heating and cooling plant system.
• Assist with or perform basic maintenance on heating and cooling systems.
• Drive a truck or van to deliver and receive equipment, furniture, mail, and supplies.

The eligible list created from this assessment may be used to fill positions as they become available in various departments within the City.

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience performing cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Special Engineer Boiler’s License.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Minnesota Class D Driver's License or equivalent out-of-state driver's license.

For positions in the Saint Paul Public Library and Saint Paul Public Works: Must obtain a Second Class C (2C) Boiler License within fifteen months.

The Qualifications Rating is an assessment of your completed application and answers to the Supplemental Questionnaire.
