Job summary

Mohave County Public Works-Parks Division is seeking a Custodian in Bullhead City, AZ. The role involves janitorial duties across county facilities and grounds. You will maintain floors, restrooms, furniture, windows and carpets while following safety guidelines and maintaining supply inventories.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED and 1 year of custodian experience. Background and drug screenings are required; county benefits apply upon hire.

Mohave County Public Works-Parks Division is seeking to hire a Custodian.

Davis Camp is located on HWY 68 and McCormick Blvd. in Bullhead City, AZ.

To provide on-going maintenance, repair, and janitorial services of County owned and leased buildings and grounds. The key objectives are to achieve maximum facility life, facility efficiency, minimum cost of ownership, and to provide a suitable environment for employees to deliver services to the Public.

Custodian -> Salary Range 6 Step 2-8 $15.45 - $18.45/hr.

• Must pass pre-employment background screening.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening.

• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
• Gather and empty trash.
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Clean windows and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
• Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
• Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
• Steam-clean or shampoo carpets.
• Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
• Clean and restore building interiors damaged by fire, smoke, or water, using commercial cleaning equipment.
• Drive county vehicles to perform cleaning of facilities or grounds.
• Follow the procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
• Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks.
• Visually check and clear debris from grounds.
• Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Requisition and maintain an inventory of supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables and chairs to prepare facilities for events as directed.
• Communicates and acts in a professional manner with the public, co-workers, and work contacts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma /GED (General Education Diploma).
• One (1) year actual experience as a custodian.
• OR any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered in meeting the minimum qualifications.
