Job summary

The Vocational Training Center in Fargo, ND is seeking a Custodian to maintain clean, safe facilities across multiple locations. Starting pay is $16.65 per hour with a Monday–Friday schedule 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and full-time benefits eligibility.

Responsibilities include daily custodial care, grounds upkeep, snow/ice removal, and basic maintenance tasks. The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, a valid driver's license, and strong time management and communication skills.

• Clean and sanitize offices, restrooms, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and perform floor care.
• Empty trash and recycling.
• Maintain inventory and order supplies.
• Groundskeeping duties including snow/ice removal and keeping entryways clear.
• General building maintenance tasks (filters, minor repairs, drains, etc.).
• Identify maintenance or safety concerns and assist with solutions.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold standards.

Job description

Position: Custodian

Starting Pay: $16.65 per hour

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM

Status: Full-Time (Eligible for all FT benefits)

Primary Location: 424 9th Ave South Fargo, ND 58103

Additional Duties: Support weekly cleaning + maintenance needs at all locations.

As part of our growing VTC team, this position plays a key part in ensuring our facilities remain clean, safe, and well-maintained. Responsibilities include daily custodial care, maintaining grounds, and providing support for both interior and exterior upkeep across multiple VTC locations.

Key functions include:

• Cleaning and sanitizing offices, restrooms, and common areas
• Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and floor care
• Emptying trash/recycling
• Maintain inventory and order supplies
• Groundskeeping duties such as raking, snow/ice removal, and keeping entryways clear
• General building maintenance tasks (filter changes, minor repairs, unclogging drains, etc.)
• Identifying maintenance or safety concerns and assisting with solutions
• Maintaining confidentiality and upholding VTC standards

Other duties not listed above may be assigned.

Required:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Current Driver's License
• Time management and organizational skills.

Preferred:

• 2 years of experience in building maintenance or related field.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
