Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness of the facility and surrounding grounds.
  • Stock and re-stock unit supplies.
  • Empty trash and recycle receptacles.
  • Sweep, wash, strip, and wax floors as needed.
  • Disposal of litter and debris from grounds.
  • Conduct safety inspections of building and grounds.
  • Supervise and monitor residents cleaning activities.
  • Inventory, order cleaning/housekeeping supplies, and equipment as needed.
  • Respond to emergency sanitation matters and/or incidents.
  • Drive company vehicle on business and/or transport clients as required.
  • Maintain working knowledge of VOAC policies and procedures.
  • Represent program to vendors, community and the public professionally.

The Custodian is responsible for the sanitation and overall cleanliness of program property, facility ad grounds. The Custodian is responsible for monitoring and or inspecting, program unit supplies. He/she ensures that state and local building regulations and codes are maintained at all times.

QualificationsREQUIREMENTS
  • a high school diploma or equivalent diploma/GED, and
  • at least one year experience in the provision of custodial services

OTHER: Fingerprint based Criminal Background check by FBOP; Must be received FBOP clearance

PRINCIPLE ACTIVITIES
  • Maintain cleanliness of the facility and surrounding grounds.

  • Represent program to vendors, community and the general public professionally and appropriately.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • The ability to safely operate a motor vehicle to transport oneself, consumers, and program supplies as necessary.
  • The physical ability to travel to assigned locations, stand, stoop, bend, reach, pull, push, lift, grasp, climb, talk, see, hear and perform basic and light home maintenance activities, and operate office equipment.
  • Move and lift light objects up to 30 pounds such as mail, supplies, files, and equipment.
  • Operating office equipment requiring continuous or repetitive hand/arm movements.
  • The ability to remain in a sitting position for extended periods of time.
  • Occasionally, ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
EFFECT ON END RESULTS
  • To assist in ensuring the building is maintained in a safe and sanitary manner at all times.
  • To assist in ensuring compliance with all contractual and licensure obligations.
  • To assist in ensuring facility grounds are clean, safe, and secure.
