Job Opening: Third Shift Custodian at Viterbo University

Viterbo University invites applications for a Third Shift Custodian who is eager and service-focused. The role involves working independently and with a team to maintain cleanliness across campus buildings, including residence halls, academic, athletic, and theatre facilities. This full-time position offers all employee benefits and follows a third shift schedule during the academic year, switching to first shift in summer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Cleaning classrooms, offices, hallways, lobbies, lounges, theatres, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, gyms, locker rooms, and other areas.
• Sweeping, scrubbing, washing, and burnishing floors.
• Vacuuming and shampooing carpets and upholstery.
• Dusting furniture and equipment.
• Washing walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.
• Emptying wastebaskets and transporting trash.
• Replenishing bathroom supplies.
• Transporting furniture as needed.
• Unlocking and securing doors.
• Performing minor maintenance activities.
• Working independently and with a team.
• Managing hours according to building activity, including weekends.
• Maintaining cleanliness procedures and standards.
• Other duties as assigned by the Custodial Services Supervisor.

General Requirements/Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and three months of experience/training.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Basic computer skills, including email communication.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Availability to work weekends and manage flexible hours.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available).
