Job summary

Southwest Allen County Schools in Fort Wayne, IN, is seeking a part-time custodian for a 12-month, 4-hour-per-day position. Start time is flexible for second shift; hours may vary with activities and weather. This role is not eligible for benefits and may require overtime.

Responsibilities include general cleaning, maintenance of district buildings and grounds, and assisting students, staff, and visitors. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and operate cleaning equipment such as floor machines

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning and custodial duties is desirable.
• Ability to use hand tools, machines, and equipment such as floor machines, vacuums, etc., is desirable.
• Must be able to lift, pull or push 10 pounds regularly, 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally; a 50-pound lift test will be required.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with students, staff and the general public.
• Must be able to get along with others in a team situation.
