This position is a state Civil Service position that is responsible for all housekeeping duties for Athletic facilities and buildings.
95% Incumbent will be responsible for all housekeeping duties in Athletic Facilities. Housekeeping duties include vacuuming and cleaning spots on carpets, dusting and polishing furniture, cleaning windows and window sills, mopping and waxing floors. Clean and sanitize restrooms and locker rooms. Clean the water fountains and elevator doors, being careful to use appropriate cleaner (a stainless steel polish). Dust and polish all furniture in the area. Remove any litter in and around the buildings on a daily basis.
For Custodian 3's train/mentor entry-level custodians. Help triage questions and provide additional support to the Custodian Supervisor A.
5% Other related duties as assigned.
Capable of moving about in a 58,000 sq. ft. bldg. multiple times daily to cleanand prepare locker rooms, office space, training rooms, spectator seating and exterior sidewalks, playing surfaces and common area. Able to stand for extended periods during cleaning processes. Must also be capable to stoop, kneel, andcrouch to pick up litter, retrieve equipment, and clean restrooms, offices, lobbies, and maintain floors. Should be capable of moving furniture that weighs 20 to 40 lbs. Will use arms/hands to operate floor/power equipment used in preparing and maintaining floors. Will work with andbe exposed to common cleaning products. Ability to work extended days, weekendsand holidays. In accordance with University PS 18, this position is considered essentialand may be required to report or stay on campus in the event of an emergency or closure. Pre-employment physical required.
A permanent or probationary internal employee who is appointed to another position following certification from an open competitive eligible list is considered a new employee in the new position and shall serve a probationary period of six months.
