Job summary

The University of Louisiana Monroe is seeking a Custodian 2 to join our team and play a vital role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment by providing routine upkeep and support throughout the buildings.

The position requires at least six months of custodial or related experience; duties include cleaning, waste handling, furniture care, and proper chemical use. Appointment is probational and offers state employee benefits and professional development opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Clean bathrooms, offices, hallways, and other areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing.

• Mixes or blends cleaning solutions to proper concentrations; disposes of waste per procedures.
• Maintains custodial equipment; reports needs for repairs to higher level staff.
• Operates wet/dry vacuum and shampoos carpeted areas.
• Performs additional related duties to provide efficient services.

• Clean bathrooms, offices, hallways, and any other assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing,
• Empties and decontaminates trash containers.
• Moves, rearranges, and dusts furniture and fixtures.
• Mixes or blends cleaning solutions to proper concentrations as necessary for various task. Follows procedures for disposing of waste.
• Maintains custodial equipment: reports need for minor building and /or equipment repairs to higher level custodian.
• Operates wet/dry vacuum for cleaning and shampooing carpeted areas.
• Performs any additional related duties necessary to provide efficient services.
