Job summary

Southern University Baton Rouge is seeking a Custodian 2 to maintain cleanliness at the Southern University Laboratory School in Baton Rouge, LA. The role requires six months of custodial experience and involves evening shift duties from 12:30 PM to 8:30 PM.

The starting pay is $10.70 per hour, with a $2.25 shift differential after 3:00 PM. This probationary appointment will support facility sanitation and safety across classrooms and public areas.

Responsibilities

• Empty trash/recycling, replace liners.
• Disinfect high-touch points (door handles, light switches, desks, shared tech, sink faucets).
• Wipe down desks, tables, white boards/chalkboards.
• Sweep/vacuum floors, damp mop hard floors.
• Spot clean walls and windows.
• Clean and disinfect toilets, urinals, sinks, and mirrors.
• Refill soap, paper towels, and toilet paper dispensers.
• Empty trash bins.
