Job summary

Montana Tech is hiring a Custodian for the third shift to clean and maintain campus facilities, including offices, labs, classrooms, and restrooms. The role requires safe handling of cleaning supplies and equipment, plus the ability to lift 30–60 lbs and perform snow removal when needed.

The position supports a comprehensive benefits package and may involve working alone or with a team. Third shift runs 9:00 pm–5:30 am, Sunday through Thursday, with opportunities for training and career growth.

• Third shift: 9:00 pm to 5:30 am, Sunday through Thursday

Job Description:

• Clean campus offices, labs, classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and assigned areas as required.
• Have working knowledge of proper cleaning methods and procedures in a safe and efficient manner.
• Maintain proper appearance of buildings to include entrances and exits, snow removal of sidewalks adjacent to buildings, and grounds clean-up around buildings.
• Follow safe work practices and participate in safety and custodial training as required. Display proper knowledge, care, and use of cleaning products and supplies, and maintain equipment as required.
• Be able to properly lift 30- to 60-lbs from ground level to a height of 4’-6” and be able to carry 30-lbs for a maximum distance of 30-ft with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Follow oral and written instructions,
• Solve problems encountered during cleaning process.
• Work alone and on occasion as part of a team.
• Be able to perform manual labor including snow removal.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the custodial manager.
• Third shift position working 9 pm to 5:30 am, Sunday through Thursday

Required Qualifications:

• Must be able to follow written and oral communications and solve problems during the cleaning process.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in institutional/commercial custodial work such as waxing floors.
• Working knowledge of proper cleaning methods, procedures and cleaning machines in a safe and efficientmanner.
• Working knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) for all cleaning products used.

Physical Demands:

• Be able to properly lift 30 to 60-lbs from ground level to a height of 4’-6” and be able to carry 30-lbs for amaximum distance of 30-ft with or without a reasonable accommodation.
