Job summary

Washington State University is seeking a Custodian 1 to maintain welcoming, clean, safe facilities for students, employees, and visitors at the WSU Tri-Cities campus in Richland, WA. The role covers classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas with routine custodial duties and event setup.

The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, with occasional later shifts and weekend work to support campus events. Overtime eligibility applies.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Ability to work occasional night and weekend shifts.
• Ability to obtain Department of Energy clearance for building access.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine custodial and housekeeping duties in classrooms, offices, restrooms and common areas.
• Set up and take down furnishings and equipment for campus events.
• Respond to assigned custodial requests and maintain tools and supply areas.
• Participate in campus emergency response activities as needed.
