Job description

Assigned as a member of the Janitorial Service crew to sweep, clean dust, litter, trash, shovel snow and ice, hose down ramps, stairways, and perform other non-technical services as assigned by the Facility Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Clean dust and cobwebs, pick litter and trash from garage floors and lots.
2. Cut grass and trim bushes on lots.
3. Collect trash.
4. Hose down garage ramps, floors, stairways, and clean pipes, walls, and columns.
5. Shovel and clear snow and ice during snow season.
6. Hand sweep garages and lots with a broom, including walk-behind sweepers.
7. Replace light bulbs and perform other non-technical services as assigned.
8. Perform tasks in a timely manner, following pre-established work standards, ensuring no damage to property and equipment, and accomplishing tasks as directed by supervisor or operations manager to complete all service requests.
9. Responsible for completing tasks within a specific geographic region, such as a set number of locations or all locations within an area (e.g., Washington, Maryland, Virginia).
10. Work with flexible schedules including night, evening, graveyard, and day shifts; assist with special assignments as needed.
11. Review, understand, and acknowledge company policies and procedures related to work duties when requested.
12. Participate in other special projects as directed by the Manager, Crew Chief II, Vice President, or Director.

Minimum Job Qualifications

• Ability to operate mowers, grass-cutting tools, walk-behind sweepers.
• Utilize manual cleaning equipment such as brooms, brushes, mops, hoses, and snow shovels.
• Read and comprehend safety manuals and cleaning chemical instructions.

Qualifications Desired

• Reliable with regular attendance, willing to multitask, and work well in a team environment.
• Ability to perform job duties with high quality and efficiency.
• Flexible schedule to meet daily operational needs.
• Valid Driver's License.

Performance Standards

This position will undergo an annual performance review to discuss actual performance against company expectations and set goals for the upcoming year.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, handling tools, reaching, and lifting/moving objects up to 40 lbs. The work environment may involve weather exposure and noise levels ranging from minimal to moderate.
