Job summary

Tulsa Public Schools is seeking a Custodian to clean and maintain the district facilities using appropriate chemicals and equipment. The role may fill in for the Building and Grounds Site Supervisor when needed. Safety and maintenance reporting to BGSS and supervisors are part of the duties.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, prior custodian experience is preferred, and knowledge of cleaning products/equipment. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodian experience preferred.
• Clear understanding of cleaning products and equipment.
• Willingness to learn MS Office and Google Office Suites.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain the entire facility using the proper chemicals, equipment and techniques.
• May fill in for the Building and Grounds Site Supervisor (BGSS) in their absence.
• Report unsafe conditions and maintenance needs to the BGSS and supervisors.

Position Summary:

Responsible for cleaning and maintaining the entire facility using the proper chemicals, equipment and techniques. He/she may be required to fill in for the Building and Grounds Site Supervisor (BGSS) in his/her absence. He/she will report any unsafe conditions and/or maintenance needs to the BGSS and supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience:

• Previous experience as a custodian preferred

Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, Etc.:

• Clear understanding of different cleaning products and equipment
• Able or willingness to learn Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
• Ability to occasionally life more than 50 lbs. assisted
• Ability to climb ladders and scaffolds
