Job summary

Sheridan County YMCA is hiring a Custodian to keep the facility clean, safe, and welcoming for members, guests, and staff. You will sweep, mop, dust, vacuum, clean restrooms, restock supplies, and set up events throughout the building.

We value reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work evenings and weekends. No prior custodial experience required—training provided. Join a mission-driven team strengthening our community.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Reliable and self-motivated.
• Detail-oriented and takes pride in their work.
• Able to perform physical cleaning tasks throughout the shift.
• Comfortable working evenings and weekends.
• Custodial or cleaning experience is preferred but not required – training provided.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, dust, and vacuum throughout the facility
• Clean restrooms, locker rooms, windows, mirrors, and common areas
• Empty trash and recycling
• Restock paper products, soap, and cleaning supplies
• Set up and take down tables and chairs for programs and events
• Operate custodial equipment including floor scrubbers and carpet cleaners
• Help maintain the appearance and safety of the YMCA
• Work as part of a team to ensure members have an exceptional experience

As a Custodian, you'll play a vital role in creating a safe, clean, and inviting environment for our members, guests, and staff. Every day, you'll help ensure our facility is ready to serve families and our community.

Available Schedule

We are currently hiring for the following shifts:

Monday: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Thursday: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Friday: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Saturday: 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Sunday: 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM

What You'll Do

• Sweep, mop, dust, and vacuum throughout the facility

• Clean restrooms, locker rooms, windows, mirrors, and common areas

• Empty trash and recycling

• Restock paper products, soap, and cleaning supplies

• Set up and take down tables and chairs for programs and events

• Operate custodial equipment, including floor scrubbers and carpet cleaners
