Position Summary:Maintains a clean, safe, and well-functioning facility by performing custodial, light maintenance, and material-handling duties across production, office, and grounds areas.Position Responsibilities:Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish floors and surfaces; clean and wash windows throughout the facilityClean restrooms, production areas, and office areas, including covering other areas as neededEmpty trash receptacles and restock supplies throughout the buildingMaintain the lunchroom before and after breaks and shiftsChange floor mops and mop heads across departments and collect rags for pick-upWax and refinish production floors as scheduledPick up paper, debris, and litter from grounds and building exteriorsChange light bulbs, ceiling tiles, and internal HVAC/AC filters; clean AC ventsReport needed repairs and perform minor repairs to building fixtures and equipmentConduct monthly inspection and upkeep of emergency lighting and fire extinguishersChange water filters on water fountains and perform touch-up painting as neededOperate forklifts and other material handling equipment to prepare, weigh, and load scrap and materials for removalEmpty used 55-gallon drums of liquids into holding tanksRemove damaged skids and excess crate wood, placing them into roll-off containersSet up tables and chairs for company eventsAssist contractors (e.g., pest control) with facility walk-throughsAssist with snow removal and salting of entryways and other emergency situations, such as replacing emergency door alarm exit batteriesOther duties as assignedQualifications:High school diploma or GED preferredPrior custodial, facilities maintenance, or general labor experience preferredAbility to solve practical problems and interpret written, oral, and scheduled instructionsAbility to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment; forklift certification required or must be obtained within a specified period of hireBasic mechanical aptitude to perform minor repairs and routine facility maintenanceAbility to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks across multiple areas of the facilityAvailability to respond to occasional facility emergencies outside of routine dutiesWork Environment:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job, which is performed throughout the facility, including production floor, office, and outdoor grounds areas.
